Me 109G-6 of Swiss AF (Zvezda 1/48)

February 24, 2019 · in Aviation · · 27 · 3.3K

Me 109G-6, Interlaken, Switzerland, May 1944. J-701 was one of the Me 109's bought from Germany by Swiss AF. These were produced by Mtt in Regensburg, with a lot of issues and defects due to the acts of sabotage performed at the assembly line by the foreign workers - "We work, but we screw it up!". For some reason, I like the Swiss painting scheme, so here it is.

The kit: in scale. Nice one, but some parts needs replacing, like exhausts. I've used a little bit of PE parts, resin by Vector, and custom made details. Kit comes along quite good, but not easy. Painted with Gunze enamels, weathered with oils. Mottling, the hardest part and the actual goal of this build – I was doing it for the first time in 1/48 scale.

Thanks for watching!
