Silvercon 2019

February 21, 2019 · in Show Reports · · 9 · 2.2K

2019 was held in Sacramento California last weekend. Another great contest with high quality entries and great vendors.

Also, I picked up a 1st place in small scale armor with my 1/72 M1A2 Abrams SEP TUSK II by Tiger Models and 2d place in Out-of-the-box with my 1/48 Tamiya M1A2 Abrams.

  1. Great Stuff..! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  2. What is the plane with the folded wings in the 5th picture? I see them all the time and I've really wanted to build one.

    • Jordyn, @1corsair64 that is an F4F-4 Grumman Wildcat. It was the Navy's primary fighter at the beginning of WWII. It was shown to be somewhat inferior to the Imperial Japanese forces' Zero/Zeke/Hamp (same basic plane, different models) but in the hands of a good pilot, it could defeat the fabled Zero. It was replaced primarily by the F6F Hellcat series.

      I hope this helps!

  3. Thanks for sharing your photos, Dennis.

I got a laugh at photo #44 where it looks like the Creature From The Black Lagoon just dunked a basketball for the winning point in the last seconds of the game! LoL!

  4. Loved the American pickers dream basement 🙂
