BB-64 USS Wisconsin Visit
Hi Fellow iModelers:
Today my daughter, Rebekah, and I had the pleasure and honor to visit BB-64, USS Wisconsin, berthed as a floating museum in Norfolk, Virginia at the Nauticus facility. https://nauticus.org/battleship-wisconsin/
This post somewhat fits in with David's "On This Day" post showing the USS Iowa. The Wisconsin is one of four ships in the Iowa class battleships.
I hope you don't mind me sharing a few pics. Have a great Easter/Resurrection weekend.

Thanks for sharing these photos, Gary. I have a real pull toward these big battleships and in the next few years (well, all things being equal...) I’m going to spend a year making four or five favourites.
Originally, there were six Iowa class ships intended; the Iowa, New Jersey, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Kentucky. The latter two having been laid down, hulls built, but ultimately scrapped.
Love to see more photos if you have any.

Really nice pics Gary, were you able to travel down into the gun turrets and view their insides?

Hey Tom. The only place we were allowed, on the self guided tour, was in the upper most portion of the turrets, accessed from the deck, under the back of the turret.
