Trumpeter 1/72 F-105G “Wild Weasel”
Here's my latest finished build. The build went together quite well, with the exception of the rear part of the fuselage that caused a lot of extra work... It was painted with Gunze Aqueous acrylic paints and the weathering was done with 502 Abteilung oils.
nice to see some nam stuff...well done
Thanks Bob, I think this aircraft looks fantastic so I took the opportunity to build it for a Vietnam War GB on Facebook.
Whew - I really like that! I love the Thud, and I really like your weathering approach. All the detail looks fantastic. I've got a couple Thud kits but not the Trumpeter - you've convinced me I need one!
Thank you very much, Greg - ofcourse you need another Thud in the stash 🙂
It's a great kit, part from the area around the tailfin (in front of the airbrakes), that needed a lot of work to go together.
If you are interested in the build process, here's a build-log for this build.
Outstanding work, sir...wouldn't have guessed 72nd scale - nice!
Thank you very much, Craig 🙂
I don't do jets, probably never will, and very rarely comment on them. This effort deserves a well done!
Thank you, Dale. I'm honoured that it caught your attention.
Nice colours. Found myself standing next to one at a museum in the US once...it´s HUGE!
I agree, Stellan...when I first saw one "up close and personal", I found I could walk upright directly under the wing without ducking (and I'm 6' tall) - 🙁
In my mind it is huge as a Greyhound bus...
Thanks, I never seen one IRL but they look massive.
Awesome Thud! Well done.
Thank you Robert! 🙂
Cool job on this one! I love the finish, and the weathering is impressive also.
Thanks a lot, Richard! 🙂
A very well done Thud, you have done full justice to its aggressive beauty. Liked!
Thanks Peter! Yes, it sure looks like the Beauty and the Beast at the same time...
Great looking THUD Tommy, congratulations!
Thanks Michel! 🙂
Excellent work Tommy.
Thanks a lot, Tom 🙂
