ROKAF F-15K Slam Eagle (Academy 1/48 Scale)
The F-15K Slam Eagle is a multi-role fighter aircraft manufactured by Boeing for the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF). It is an advanced variant of the F-15E Strike Eagle fighter. It can conduct long-range precision strike missions during day or night, in all weather conditions. This model depicts an F-15 from the Jaguars squadron as it appeared in 2005 at Nellis AFB. This is my first time photographing a model so I have a lot to learn about lighting and composition.
Nice clean build, Colin...love the armament selection - welcome to the site.
Thanks, Craig. The best part, all those armaments come standard with the Academy kit.
Good lookin' Eagle! That's quite the load she's carrying.
Thanks, Greg. This was my first one in a couple of years. Looking forward to getting back into it.
Great job, especially building all those weapons. Now, if we can only get the USAF to buy some of those advanced Eagles. I understand that the USAF has committed to buying some new F-15X variants, but the one that RoKAF has is here, and apparently very capable. Nice job on the kit.
Thanks, Marvin. I've heard the same rumors about F-15X variants. We'll see what the future brings.
Interesting loadout! I didn’t realize they had SLAM-ER in service ?
Technically, I don't think the K model had the capability until 2006 a year after the period this model depicts but, I mainly wanted to show the jet loaded to bear and ready to take the fight north as it was designed to do. Plus, the SLAM-ER's give the model a unique look.
Great looking Eagle!
Thanks, Robert!
