1/48 MiG-29A by Monogram
Hi Builders,
I finished this one a few weeks ago for a 4th Generation Fighters GB. It’s Monogram’s MiG-29 that I acquired from a friend clearing out his stash. It’s a pretty old model and the decals were fairly yellowed and I wanted to do something a little different, so I used some spare East German markings. Not a complete set, but close enough (in my opinion) to get the point across. I learned a lot about lacquer paint (yikes!) after the fact. The base is a tactical looking map of Cottbus, home of JG3.

I love the form and flow of this jet, and your model looks really good! Well done.

Yeah, I bought this kit and was prejudiced into not building it when new releases came out. It was pretty exciting at the time with the Mig-29s flying into Finland and being photograph by the Western Press for the first time. Monogram was one of the first manufactures to come out with a kit. Some great painting and an excellent build. I like the German paint scheme it breaks up the kits short comings when it comes to the accuracy police. But , on the whole the build screams Mig -29.
Two thumbs up.
