Amazon’s Pet
I painted this model from Cellar Cast back in 1998.
It is sculpted by the artist Steve West after a painting from Boris Vallejo. The model is from 1995 and I also have another Vallejo sculpture from Steve West, -the Primeval Princess from 1994 that is still unpainted.
The Amazon’s Pet was sitting painted on a shelf for many years until I had some expansions added to my house a couple of years ago and the model fell down and some parts broke off.
Nothing major but I had to rebuild some of her hair with Apoxie Sculpt.
The base has also been redone with sand, paint and some static grass.
So this is more restoration than a new build.
I hope you enjoy

HOLY MOLY!! now that’s my kinda girl. if she told me it was my turn to do the washing up I’d get my marigolds on and no arguments !
I love it for obvious reasons…. Oh and it’s really well done as well.

Yeah, I’ve had opportunities to meet several amazons …some of them over 6ft and they still manage to tell me ” My eyes are up here”. Geir your lucky to be able to have a female figure in the house … that second unpainted figure looks promising the sculpting has some good subtleties when it comes to muscle groupings and the proportions having a little more elan.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

It’s always nice to have a different subject and this one is a winner: different and beautifully painted.
Congratulations

I’m at a loss for words…..not because it’s painted expertly – for other reasons. 🙂

The lizard came out nice too.

Wait….There’s a lizard? Seriously though, in the second picture with the way the eyebrows and wide eyes are painted coupled with the sculpt’s pointy nose and skin tone she kinda resembles Michael Jackson minus the curly hair around the period the album “Bad” came out. I wonder if the sculptor was listening to Smooth Criminal and subconsciously sculpted MJ’s face. Excellent job on the full finished piece. There’s a reason we don’t all do figures and it’s because they won’t look like this when finished!
