Angolan MIG-21 Bis, 1/48, from Eduard
This time I wanted to show you something I did some time ago.
Within the model I prefer the military vehicles in 1/35, but every now and then I make a plane in 1/48.
In this case I bring you a MIG-21 Bis by Eduard, 1/48, with Had Models decals. I decided for a version of Angola, because it is rare and little shown in this hobby.
It is painted with acrylics by Vallejo and Sicko Models. The paneling and shading is made with AK products. For the interior of the cabin I used Eduard's PE.

Looks fab, never seen an Angolan MiG...
At the beginning of the conflict with South Africa, Angola used several MIG-21 and 23. At first they were flown by Cuban pilots and later by Angolan pilots. The plane that represents the kit was captured in the late 80's by South Africa, and is now in a museum in that country.

You have picked just right Juan.
I have this same one to build and have yet to build it. Beside it being a rare MIG too see, this MIG ( C 340 ) has some history and a little controversial background, all in all … a very good " Talk About Subject "
The colors looks just right, and the weathering is well done.

Had decals are of very good quality. They are not thick and are very well placed with the proper technique.
Lovely 21! Looks great in the unusual scheme and markings. That's one of the things I like about the 21 - lots of options for schemes/decals.

Sorry to jump in late with your MiG 21. Great look, great build. Love the African "stuff". Have a MiG 21 & 23 to build in Angolan marking. Will be using Berna Decals for the 23 as it has markings for an aircraft flown by Executive Outcomes pilots.
Would love to see more African builds!
