FW 190 A8 Walkaround

Four years ago, I wrote an article about how a FW 190 A8 was being restored at the Luftwaffenmuseum in Gatow outside Berlin, Germany

A year ago the restoration was finished and the aircraft is now exhibited in the rebuilt exhibition.
The aircraft can be called a “Frankenstein Aircraft”, that is, has been restored using parts from many different aircraft. Great efforts were however made, to make it as authentic as possible.
I hope you’ll find these pictures interesting and useful.

  3. Beautiful shots, thanks.

Surprised it has the swastika on it – was told it was illegal there even in museums.
