WIP: Tamiya Flakpanzer Gepard
WIP: My next project - a 1/35 Tamiya Flakpanzer Gepard, kit No 35099.
This will be done as far as possible as an OOB build. The only mods are some of the vent holes under the turret rear being filled in and the others drilled out, then a deck placed from one side of the hull to the other. Also the holes in the lower hull were filled in.
Am also replacing the kit supplied rear deck mesh with a piece of finer copper mesh I have in my spares box.
Will not be purchasing any after market parts/PE.
Some scratch building being done: anti slip panels were masked and sprayed with Rustoleum stone spray, handles made from copper wire on panels behind turret mount, holes drilled through plates to form grills, panel doors on the rear rescribed at the in the right position and new hinges & locking brackets made, rear number plate mounting bracket made, 2 x extra brake lights made and installed next to the rear tow hooks and what looks to be a circular access/fuel door made and installed on right rear angled panel.
Extra stowage box made and installed on rear right, tow cable storage brackets made for engine deck. Now to make tow cables and eyes.
