Tamiya 1/48 De Havilland Mosquito PR Mk.IV

June 28, 2020 · in Aviation · · 21 · 2.8K

Hi There,
This kit was given to me by my latest trainee at work after he passed out as a thank-you. This is the first time in over 30 years that this has happened to me and I was very touched by it.

Undercoat - Ultimate Primer Grey
Paints - Colourcoats Interior Grey Green, Colourcoats PRU Blue, Rubber and Nato Blacks and Vallejo Model Air Aluminium.
Final Coat Windsor and Newton Galeria Satin Varnish.
Aftermarket - photoetch, canopy mask set and Uschi Van Der Rosten Rigging for aerials.
As always,

Thanks for looking and all comments and criticism welcome.
Cheers,
Alistair

  1. Good looking build Alistair.

  2. That kit is never going to be beat (if you doubt me, look at the "Mosquito-ish" Revell Mk. IV), and you have maximized the possibility of good outcome with it. Looks great!

  3. The Mosquito is one of my most favorite airplanes. I think I have liked it since I saw an old movie about Mosquitos in WW2 called "633 Squadron". Your build has really done the plane justice. Great job.

  4. Hi There,

Thanks for that and I remember well the movie, in fact I introduced my Nephew to it a couple of months ago.

    Cheers,
    Alistair
