1/48 Hasegawa AV-8B II Plus – VMA-214
This is the Hasegawa 1/48 AV-8B II Plus. I used Eduard photo etch to detail it as well as some 3-D printed parts. The scheme is the infamous VMA-214 Blacksheep with decals from Caracal. This kit had some challenging fit issues with the dorsal and wing areas. You can see all the build photos, details of the poor fitting areas, and what is required to correct them in my build log section. https://davidsscalemodels.com/build-log/1-48-av-8b-harrier-ii-plus/

Hello David,
The AV-8B is quite popular at this moment.Your great contribution is another proof of this.
It is a very remarkable AC that will be sadly missed in the RAF.
Good thing, the USMC (Clean-mean fighting-machine) is still around with them.
Regards, Dirk

Nice job. I read sometime back that this kit was not developed by Hasegawa. Supposedly it was an Accurate Miniatures project that Hasegawa acquired after AM went away.

Great looking Harrier! I remember seeing AV-8A operate off the F.D.R. CV 42 in the Med., boy were they noisy.

🙂 … Greetings .. 🙂 :
Nice clean work on this model David. The markings gives it a somewhat different look, but still serious.
