A Meteor's Engine
While struggling with completion of Airfix' Gloster Meteor F.8 the included Derwent is a model in itself. It's not bigger than 20 mm x 35 mm but certainly will be an eye catcher on the side. Finnished in Vallejo colours throughout and a bit of oil wash for depth.
That's a lovely engine model, Stellan.
Nice dolly too! Was it included in this or another kit? Did you scratchbuilt it?
It will look great near the Meteor.
Thanks, Spiros. The stand is included in the kit.
Hi Stellan. Great job! Nice fat little engine these meteors had ! I look forward to Seeing your progress as I have Meteors of 3 different types flown by the Belgian Air Force I would like to put together.
Is this in 1/72?
Thank you.
Thanks, Bernard. No, it is in 1/48. Belgian, eh, so that would include F.4, F.8, T.7?
Looks good Stellan, should be an excellent addition to your Gloster model.
Many thanks, Tom. The Meteor itself has been a struggle so it has been nice to do something quick n easy on the side.
Very nice - unusual looking critter, is it not?!
In deed it is, Greg. One can only wonder what a centrifugal compressor engine would look like to be able to propel an F-4 Phantom...not to mention two of them side by side.
Thanks for your comment.
