M-40 155mm SPG. Roco HO.

October 1, 2020 · in Armor · · 5 · 1.5K

A little bit of a cheat here, most of these old 's come partially assembled, where you add accessories and paint. The M40 had a 155mm gun built on a modified late Sherman chassis. Used at the end of WW 2 and in the Korean war.
I had had one of these as a kid, my fathers cousins husband collected them, mostly German vehicles, this was out of place so he gave it to me. I found this one on ebay.

  1. I always liked those little Roco kits. Nice looking model!

  2. I have over 350 ROCO miniatures. I started collecting them as "toys" when I was about 8 or 9 years old and the only reason I don't STILL buy them is because I never see them! Heck, there was only one place I saw them "back in the day." That was at the great Bob Steel's Hobbies; long gone from here in Indianapolis.

Robert, your post brought back a bunch of great memories!

  3. That's cool. We had no Woolworth store that we went to.
But I managed to accumulate a good number, anyhow. LoL!
