A-7D Corsair II Italeri 1/72

December 23, 2020 · in Aviation · · 11 · 3K

Hello everyone,

Aside from the Hobby Boss standing in my stash as ultimate mold for A7 in , I couldn't help myself, and must finish (if nothing else the one for sentimental reasons) this “old beauty”.

With all the "inaccuracies" and poor fit here and there, this is one of my favorite ESCI / molds. Built from the box, with added details in cockpit, resin pilot seat..etc, and one more complicated task, to make full length intake from the polystyrene sheet, which i did not managed very well, but still better than original shallow opening (as I didn't want to put the lid on the intake).

AK colors and reasonable (i hope) amount of weathering. What I failed to fit as i wanted are the cockpit transparent parts ... but can live with that. In the end I am satisfied, I hope you will like it too.

Greetings until the next finished model

  1. Well done Djordje, not into jets but I always loved the look of the A-7. Great A/C with a proud history, and being from Ohio I especially like your choice of decals. The unit based out of Toledo, and currently fly F-16's. Nice job.

    • I have an F-16 in progress that will carry the Stinger on its tail. I've autocrossed on the south side tarmac with the local SCCA club. Nothing like racing cool cars while 180th F-16s are taking off on an adjacent runway.

  2. Nice work, Djordje. That’s one of my favorite ANG schemes.

  3. Djordje, looks great. I love the A-7s, yet it's one I've not yet added to the stash..

Your paint and weathering looks great!

  4. Great looking attacker, Djordje.
To me the imperfections you mentioned are not visible.
That scheme and weathering looks very nice.

  5. Nicely done Djordje.

  6. A very nice SLUF, Djordje!
    Great scheme!
We operated A-7s in Greece, my affection to the type us particular.
    Well done!

  7. Nice work and a great result.

  8. Thank you all on kind words.
I am always happy when see some old molds finished. yes there lot better ones, but still, all those oldies bring some nice memories with them...and that can correct all issues with panel lines, bad fitting...etc.
    Wish you all better 2021,
    Marry Christmas.
    Djordje

  9. great looking SLUF!

  10. Great looking A-7! I never thought of it as an "ugly" bird, and used to love to watch the OK National Guard flying theirs around. I was disappointed when they swapped them for F-16s.
