A very nice contribution to the Empire of Japan GB by your dad, Reinhard.
As always, very nice paint and weathering results.
Love this one.

You did it again!
Another Spreitzhofer masterpiece!
And, what a great subject! I love the looks of the Rufe.
Last Spreitzhofer model for the EoJ GB? Something tells me likely not….!!!! 🙂
Congratulations, this one of the best Rufes Ihave ever seen, if not the best!

Thanks Spiros! Well, at least for a longer time this will be our last contribution to the EoJ GB. For now my dad has enough of Japanese planes 😀
Our fellow countryman Roland Sachsenhofer showed this model with this scheme not that long ago which turned out great too. Not sure if he showed it here or I saw it on another forum.

Beautiful finish Reinhard, it was great to see the progress in the GB.
Fantastic looking Rufe, love the camouflage.
Here is a ‘Dad Joke’ for your father:
I showed your photos to my pet dog – my dog got excited and barked “RUFF- RUFF”
I told him ‘Noooo…it is a Rufe’.

Thanks George! Yes, that´s a good one 😀

It came out beautifully! Love the scheme on this one. Once my new airbrush arrives I may have to attempt a replication in 1/72. I feel like your dad just provides ideas for my builds with almost every one of his!

Thanks a lot Greg! Always glad to be inspirational. Then stay tuned. The next ones to see the finish line are a Kingfisher, this time in a standard scheme, and an Ar196 in fake French markings.

Reinhard, @grimreaper
Your Dad is one extremely talented builder. You are an incredibly talented photographer, and together you guys rock. This is my favorite style paint scheme for any A6M. The Ame-Iro base color with a little green added for camouflage splotches look amazing together. I sincerely thank you for contributing so many different builds for our incredibly successful Empire of Japan group build.
This build was fun to watch as your Dad constructed it and you posted the progress. I am so pleased with the outcome, that I have decided to move my Yamamoto mission build over to the Empire of Japan. So look for a new build journal to pop up over there. I have pulled the boxes back down from the “started” pile and will now finish them up. I have 5 different A6M-3 kits started, and two G4M Betty planes under way.
Thanks for reviving my inspiration on these builds.

Thanks again for your kind and flattering words. I´m glad I found this specific Hasegawa boxing of the Rufe. All others only include plain green or grey schemes.
As I told Greg, glad to be inspirational. But for now this was the last Japanese model for a while, my dad has enough of them 🙂 But you never really know….. 😉
