1/48 Kinetic EA-6B with black box cockpit

Hey all,

Thought I’d get my feet wet and submit my first article! This is the kinetic EA-6B. I used the black box resin cockpit that is designed for the old monogram kit. Yes I know, not a good idea but I had it on hand and it seemed a good choice at the time. In retrospect the kit cockpit with careful painting would look great.

The HARM’s are from the hasegawa weapons set. Decals are of VAQ-137 from the 1st gulf war.

The kit itself is excellent. I don’t recall any assembly issues. Certainly way better than the old monogram offering.

The base is pine wood with routed edges. I spray painted the carrier deck markings. The patches are from my time with “the rooks”.

Hope you enjoy the pictures!

  8. Welcome! That’s a great-looking Prowler – the paint work is really nice. I’m preparing to do a 1/72 Prowler in the Desert Storm 3-tone tan/brown scheme. Love the A-6 airframe, including the EA versions!
