6 – Revell AH-1S Tow-Cobra & AH-1T Sea Cobra Group build with my son
I managed to get similar Cobra Helicopters and wanted to do a build together with my son so we could work on similar kits while he learnt.
What an awesome experience, he did so well and we both learnt a lot.
He did the Sea cobra in the Camo and mine was the Tow Cobra in green.
Both were great kits and we really enjoyed building together.
Because mine was green I wanted to try some painting techniques, and did some post shading lighting up and darkening the base color to create some highlights.
My son did his own airbrushing which he loved.
I'd say your son has a bright future in modelling.
Yeah he is doing so well - may have to make him a profile on here soon.
Great learning project ! Both Cobras turned out great !
It was indeed, thanks Jay
Well done, that's superb work from both of you. Great to see some young blood joining the hobby as well!
Thanks Ian, yip got to get them young, my daughter is busy with here 1st one too - she is 4.
Excellent models, Anthony!
And what an experience! Your son will keep those wonderful memories forever!
P.S. Your son's Cobra is better! 🙂
I know right - bloody humiliating.
How great it is to see a member of the younger generation holding a model in their hands rather than a cell phone or some electronic 'toy'. Well done Anthony and Son. Keep up the good work. As Spiros said, those memories of those times spent together indeed will last forever.
Thanks Jim, yeah I hate the screens they are always stuck behind, unfortunately the way things are these days with everyone so busy it becomes a tool parents need to use.
Love spending the time I have with the kids. Especially doing things like this we all love.
Great Father/Son project - "raise them up in the way they should go..." - can't go wrong with modeling!
Haha thanks Greg, yip trying to teach them to use their creativity.
What a brilliant idea to get your son into modelling, Anthony @anthonyricco
Postshading on you Cobra looks great.
Both Cobras are awesome and personally I do like your son's build a lot.
He will become a great modeller, please sent him a lot of compliments.
And I fully agree that those moments in life are unforgettable.
Hi John, thanks a lot for the compliments, yes the Camo on his turned out really nicely. Will give him your message.
What a great post! Nice Cobras!
Thanks a lot Robert.
