1/72 Hobby 2000 – Ju87 G2, Rudel’s last flight
I did this model as a fun build. My first Stuka build was done some may years ago, it was Hasegawa's 1/48 scale Rudel's plane.
The summer was hot as hell and I didn't want to during the build. So, I decided to do some easy model, just for fun. As a person who is in deep love with Ju 87 I decided to do this little bad boy.
This model is repack from Fujimi's old boy from 1986. Some parts are changed and Hobby 2000 added new decals which depicts the plane which Rudel flew on his last sortie. He and his rear gunner took off on the 8. of may 1945. from the airfield near the Prague and landed on the airfield controlled by the US army. He intenionally crash landed so the plane could not be used after landing. This model depicts that plane. The only difference is in spinner, I had much troubles with spinner decal so I painted it this way.
We all know almost everything about this plane. So I'll jump to the build. The build is superb, without any problem, clicking into place. The cockpit is very spartan so I added two Revell figures, I did whole paint job with Vallejo acrylics. I didn't use them for many years. So I gave them shake while they were attached to the jigsaw tool. They were mixed excellently till the point that they behaved perfectly.
I did very little weathering to achieve the point that the last flight on this Stuka was done on the nearly mint condition plane, because Stuka's wasn't used at the end of the war like at the beginning.
So, this is it. Real fun to build and real joy, without complications. Just some fun build this time
A fun and quick build but an excellent one, Djordje!
That's a fine Stuka!
Thank You my Friend 🙂
That's a good-looking Stuka. The light panel wash on top definitely gives it a stylized look. Well done!
Kind of You for these nice words 🙂
Wonderful Stuka, Djordje @sheol
Great camouflage.
Thank You John, the kit is very easy to work with, rest is joy 🙂
Nice build, I like the finish on it.
