SMW rides again
Unfortunately we don't get the great coverage we used to when Marcus went to the show, but this collection will keep some of us happy. I really liked the War Horse, which apparently took the top prize, deservedly so.
There's a lot of talent on display.
Thanks for the link, some amazing scale models there! What's the story behind that "war horse"? It is very intriguing; steam-punk or reality? ?
It's based on the "armor" that cavalry horses had in World War I.
...and it is the star of a stage production ("War Horse", naturally, about the cavalry horses of WW1, as Tom pointed out), in the form of a giant puppet manipulated by actors in costumes just as seen in the model. Later made into a movie, but with real horses. If you ever get to see a stage production, the puppets are amazing and the entrance of a WW1 tank on stage is pretty spectacular.

Hey, thanks for the explanation - so the model here is the stage horse puppet? That makes it even more amazing.
Great looking builds.
Amazing models, @tcinla!
Oh my! So many figures and armor.. And ships And cars!
Love them all!
Nice, they had a great show. Happy to see that. Thanks for the link.
Wonderful ! I miss the atmosphere of these type of gatherings.
I may have another 15 or so years in front of me making models. Getting to a show like this is on the list during that time.
