Revell 1/72 Spitfire Mk Vb
What can I say, not a bad little kit.
It went together quite well with minor scraping and filling.
Built OOB the only additions were a small piece of brass tube for a short shot in the cockpit and scrap photoetch for the rear view mirror.
Primed with Tamiya Neutral Grey
Painted with ColourCoats Internal Grey Green, Medium Sea Grey, Ocean Grey, Dark Green, FAA Yellow and Sky Type S, Tamiya Nato Black, Rubber Black and Flat Aluminium.
A little sponge chipping, Oil weathering, Flory Dark Dirt, Citadel Nuln Oil and Seraphim Sepia washes.
IFF wires - Uschi Van Der Rosten Rigging Thread.
Finished with Windsor & Newton Matt and Satin Varnish.
Quite pleased with this one as I thought I'd initially overdone the weathering but the final matt coat knocked it all back nicely.
Oh and I have straightened the tail wheel. It comes connected to the Port fuselage half.
It's a miracle that I didn't break it during the build.
Thanks for looking,
Cheers,
Alistair
It is always a pleasure to see your excellent builds, Alistair, this time with Spitfire done in the green/gray scheme. Indeed the weathering came out perfect.
Well done!
Thanks so much Spiros,
You are too kind.
The weathering isn't perfect but it is a skill I'm attempting to teach myself.
I only hope I can improve.
Cheers,
Alistair
great plane from 303 squadron!
Thanks very much.
I never met a Spitfire I didn't like. A easy rabbit hole to fall into. The small scale kits don't have to be a epic build and can offer a quick set up for painting the canvas with the final resulting being "pleasing."
Two thumbs up Alistar.
Many thanks for your kind comment.
Nice job, itβs a great looking Spitfire! ?
Thanks so much.
Beautiful build, Alistair @alistairfgauld
Great Polish Spitfire and the added rear mirror is superb.
Thank You very much.
The kit didn't have the extended mirror used on this Spitfire, so, I just put a couple of bits of scrap
photoetch together and it seemed to work.
Cheers,
Alistair
Jan Zumbach himself would like this model, Alistair @alistairfgauld. Beautiful result with this. I like it a lot.
Thanks so much.
I think that is the highest compliment I've ever been paid.
Cheers,
Alistair
Nice work, Alistair. I forgot Revell had a 1/72 Spitfire Vb.
Thanks so much.
It's not a bad wee kit. It has the usual Revell flash about the place but fits well.
Cheers,
Alistair
