Academy Tiger I with interior
This is from late 2018, the Academy Tiger I with interior. I've heard a fair amount of complaints about this kit but did not experience any major difficulties with it, I recall it being complex but not difficult. Fit was fine and it looks like a Tiger I to me therefore I am happy with it.
I did get a set of AFV Club early workable tracks for it which did give me some trouble at first until I discovered the secret to easy assembly and got a rhythm going. Figures are from ICM I don't recall the exact kit. ICM has bee putting out very good stuff as of late.
The model was finished in Model Masters acrylic Panzer Grey and lightened up with preshading and very thin coats of lighter grey, and I'm pretty sure I used Bragdons powders to dirty it up. Tracks were airbrushed Model Masters Burnt Umber acrylic then washed with a lighter enamel rust tone. Once dry the high points got drybrushed with Model Masters enamel Chrome Silver. Base is foamboard insulation covered in Celluclay with driveway gravel, seafoam trees and WW II scenics grass tufts of various sizes.
According to Academy this represents the tank commanded by Otto Carius around Lenningrad which I am not sure of but hey I'll go with it.
A wonderful result, Mark!
The diorama is equally excellent!
Congratulations!
Thank you brother I've always liked working with Panzer Grey
Impressive work on the Tiger, the diorama setting puts this one over the top!
They don't look finished to me anymore unless they're on a base. Thanks
Very nice looking Tiger. I may give an Academy armor kit a try.
Thanks sir you could do worse than an Academy kit. Be aware, however, some of their older stuff is not so good
Excellent work, Mark @markh
Besides the Tiger, also the diorama looks superb.
Well done.
Cheers my friend
Terrific looking Tiger!
Thank you sir
Great looking Tiger and dio Mark!?
