Tamiya 1:48 T-55

February 1, 2022 · in Armor · · 12 · 1.7K

Another quarter scale gem. I wanted a short term project so I did this OOB and also did limited the weathering. One error I ran into was that the instructions have you make the cables a little too long. The finished product is another great iconic AFV for the display shelf.

  1. Excellent result, Dennis!

  2. Great build and very nicely weathered, Dennis @dmeyers

  3. Lovely job here it looks great. The green is convincing and the light weathering is superb.

I once read somewhere that the T-55 has the honor (?) of being the most knocked out tank in the world...probably because the Soviets made a whole lot of them and guys that did not know what they were doing put them up against opponents that were 30-40 years more advanced. At least when hit they seemed to hold together, unlike the T-72 which seems to come apart like a dropped bottle

  4. Nice work on this and a really nice result.

  5. Nice work, Dennis. I've recently had a desire to build 1/48 vehicles. Good inspiration, thanks!

  6. Nice work! What paint did you use? I am about to get to the stage of a 1/35 T34.

  7. Nice work. How did the tracks assemble? Any issues?

  8. Wow Dennis @dmeyers - I'm not such an armour fan but when I saw yours in the headlines it immediately got my attention - great build, really excellent weathering.

  9. Another fabulous 1/48 build! I like the weathering. Dirty but not overly so.
