Williams Bros 1/48 Corben Super Ace
Well, I said the Super Ace was hot on the heels of my Ford Flivver and here it is... Fifteen months later! I have to get moving if I'm going to make a dent in the stash!
I had built this kit back in the 90's but it is so spindly it did not survive the years intact. (Although I still have it.) It's a nice kit and builds quickly. (Still trying to figure out what took me so long!) I used Catapillar yellow for the fuselage (which I also use for my yellow wings on inter war navy planes) and Model Master Classic Black for the trim. The silver is Testors Metallic Silver which stands in well for silver dope or aluminized lacquer. While I did not install the windows on my old model, this one does have them. The only thing I skipped were the control runs as they were so short. (I did miss the flying wire above the horizontal tail which I will add.)
It is also my 47th birthday today and getting to post a finished plane is a great present to myself!
This sure turned out well !
Happy birthday to you, Josh @jpatt1000.
Neat work on this, Josh, happy birthday, just 47, still a nipper compared to me, 72 this month.
Sweet-looking plane, Josh (@jpatt1000). Paint and finish is amazing. Well done. Happy birthday today, and many more. I will 72 in a few months, so I am right behind our other George.
Excellent model, Josh!
Happy Birthday!
Congratulations on your birthday, Josh @jpatt1000
You handed yourself a nice present.
Great build.
A belated happy birthday from me Josh! ?
The model looks terrific outdoors, love the sky in those pics dude! ?
Great article @jpatt1000!
Josh, I like this a lot. Golden era of aviation represented finely!
Well, it seems I'm late to the party, but I'll tell you that this is a great project you've finished here, Josh! @jpatt1000
And a belated Happy Birthday, too!
PS - Don't feel too old yet ... I have T-shirts older than you!
LoL!
Very nice Josh. Nice to see youngsters still making models!
Hope you had a fun birthday!
