The only parts I glue on Monogram's B-17 (and B-24, B-29) interior are the subassemblies themselves. I simply set them in the grooves and cement the fuselage halves. That way the interior subassemblies can float and not prevent you from getting a flush exterior joint. (I also join the halves with tube glue. Enough that it makes a bead on the outside of the fuselage joint. Just before it's fully set I run a razor blade along the seam to get rid of the bead of glue and usually I get away with no filler and minimal dressing of the joint. (Essential on a NMF bird so you don't have to get rid of sanding scratches.)
