Revell 1/32 Heinkel 219 A-7
Having built many of Tamiya's 1/48th Uhu variants Revell's 1/32nd kit was a good way to complete the collection. And yes, I also built Dragon's 1/72nd model. All three kits were not disappointing.
There were no issues with the building process other than the need to add a huge amount of weight, I believe, more than the amount indicated in the instructions. The cockpit is very basic. The pale blue plastic color of the kit is similar to the RLM 76 tone, I applied fine wash to enhance the delicate panel lines and eliminate the plastic hue.
A beautiful Uhu, Rafi @blackmopane
The applied scheme is executed very nicely.
Well done.
Thank you John
That’s a beautifully made and finished Uhu Rafi, many congratulations. Small details such as the colouring on the Eberspacher exhausts and the weathering on the cockpit really highlight the quality of the model, not to mention the mottling!
Thank you max. This is the advantage of a large scaled Luftwaffe model that allows you to dig in the complicated patterns.
That's some very nice work there Rafi and a great result.
Thank you Tom
Another winner, Rafi! Painting and weathering, among others are really superb!
Thank you Spiros
I like the weathering, the areas where you put the effort are spot on imo. Thumbs up
Thank you Pedro
Spot-on. One heck-of-a-Heinkel. VERY well done.
Thank you Bob
When this kit first came out the modeling experts on the net were quick to point out the fatal flaws and where showing all of the corrections needed to be made to make it up to snuff. The seed had been planted for some and built up kits became, far , few and in-between when it comes to photo's. Having written that . . . Rafi your gifts and talents really bring out the best in the kit and one quickly forgets what ever fatal flaws are present. The painting, washes, staining and attention to the details in the canopy and the radar make this model interesting for viewing. This kit is something of a sleeper now that you've shown what can be done to make it stand out.
A job well done, well done indeed.
Two thumbs up. Had to smash the like button.
Thank you Stephen for you kind words.
I built it 8 years ago and do not remember any serious flaws that needed attention. Or may be, my advanced age is doing its tricks. But definitely, the build much more elaborate than the Tamiya kit.
Excellent build of the Owl.
Thank you Dan
Love it. Fascinating subject. Thank God the war ended before our poor bomber crews had to face it in numbers!
Thank you Ross
Nice work, Rafi. That plane must have some real presence in 1/32. I built that 1/72 Dragon kit 30 years ago too.
Indeed. Thank you John. I also built the Dragon 1/72 some 30 years ago and revamped it recently.
Rafi @blackmopane
You have brought the most out of this kit. It looks exceptional ! I have one of these that is almost done. I'm at the point of adding the decals now, and I have a build journal of it here on Imodeler.
I am definitely pressing the "like" button on this one.
The wheels, exhausts, cockpit, I mean everything here looks exceptional.
Thank you Louis,
I look forward to see your journal.
Well done, Rafi (@blackmopane). The intricate camo is difficult under any circumstances, but you have really beat it into submission.
Thank you George
I'm just piling on - ditto to everyone else's comments! Well done.
Thank you Greg
