Amusing Hobby 1/35 Rheintochter R1

October 11, 2022 · in Armor · · 10 · 1.1K

Although it did not reach operational service, the surface to air missile was well into its experimental stages. The development program however, was terminated towards the end of the War.

The kit represents a mobile version based on the late Panther chassis. Although the adaptation is fictional, it combines historic vehicles.

The kit is well engineered with plenty of details. My only complaint is that the vinyl tracks were twisted severely. Moreover, I could not replace them with spare Panther tracks because chose to produce a unique track and road wheels system.

  1. Amazing job, Rafi!
First time I see it, looks fearsome!

  2. Seems like a good thing that it never became operational. Good save on the tracks.

  3. First time II see this what-if model actually built. Very good wood effect, in fact the whole missile composition is great! And it strikes me just how big that thing would be

  4. Very interesting model of a what could be. I guess these kind of weapons could really prolong the war, if they would be fielded earlier.

  5. Excellent build, Rafi @blackmopane
Was not aware of this development of Rheintochter, it could have given the war a different ending.
