More Spitfires
Since people are posting Spitfires, here are some of mine (all are 1/48th):
MD-Tis an Airfix new mold Vb as "Buckeye Don"
NK-K is an Airfix Mk.IIa (from the Mk.I kit, Mk.II parts are in the box)
AN-A is an Eduard MK.VIII
And T-B is an Eduard Vc which was built as it has the "Saint" stick figure, a common thread with my builds
Thanks for looking!
Bruce
All are wonderful, Bruce!
The more Spitfires the better!
Welcome aboard!
Wow, these are really beautiful! How was the Airfix Vb, @rbrucearcher?
Having built both the Eduard and new mold Airfix Spitfire Vb, I have noticed the following...
The Eduard is more complex, with more small parts (bad for my arthritis). It is finely detailed and builds into a beautiful model. The Airfix kit is simpler, less fiddly, and an easier build. It is well-detailed. Surface details are better in the Eduard kit. But placed side by side 1 foot away, you are hard-pressed to tell them apart.
So if you want lots of detail, and have the patience for the Eduard kit, go for it. If you desire a simpler build and have a very nice model go for Airfix.
Nice work Bruce (but I said that about these before ๐ ). Glad to see you finally followed my suggestion about joining the finest model club on the internet.
You are joining this great community with a great set of Spitfires, Bruce @rbrucearcher
Welcome aboard.
Looking forward to see more of your builds.
Thatโs a nice collection, very good looking airplanes .
That is about 1/2% of my 1/48th scale Spitfire collection...
Then there is the 1/72nds and the 1/144ths and 1/100nds ๐
