Grunau Baby Glider, 1/48 Special Hobby
Another gift for my dad... harking back to his gliding days in South Australia in the 1950's. He declared this his favourite aeroplane ever, and he even managed to get his "Silver C" in this aircraft: 5 hours aloft. This was back in the day when gliders didn't even need to be registered in Australia. Dad even met Schneider, one of the original designers of the Grunau who emigrated to Australia, like my father, and kept building and refining the design.

Very beautiful. Lifelike. Almost feel like tapping my finger to the fabric to hear the drum sound. Drives past the airfield in Gawler north of Adelaide every now and then, very active bunch of pilots soaring around on the weekends.
