Mark V (Male)
My Mark V (Male) is finally finished. Yes! was not so productive recently...
The idea was to provide this model with two environments; one side in the reality of muddy terrain and the other one in a museum. The museum side is opened allowing observers to have a look at the interior.
I modified the engine cover in order to be able to see inside and opened the side of the tank to see the transmission.
The quality and accuracy of the kit are fantastic, and that is fortunate to be able to assemble correctly the interior. Some parts of the inside sub-assembly are also connected to the top roof, which makes it quite complicated to perform modifications. You have to think "3D" to avoid issues during the final assembly.
For the mud, I used the new Smart Mud XL 2 from VMS and the pigments plus binder from the same company. I really like their products. The varnish HD from VMS is simply great. The wood comes from my garden, as the dirt scattered here and there on the tank.
I also add some pictures of the assembly to see better the interior.
Excellent work sir
Many thanks for your nice comment π
Fantastic, Alex! The "two environments" idea is great!
Thanks a lot my friend π
Wow, superlative modeling. Fantastic model and diorama
Thanks for your kind comment Pedro π
Amazing result, Alex @modalex6149
This is truly excellent modelling.
Fantastic detailing, even the barbwire is superb in this little scene.
Great thanks for your kind comment John.
Quite happy with the barbwire result. Actually quickly done with the help of some branches from my garden's trees π
Truly outstanding work!
Many thanks for your nice comment π
Stunning work! I have just started experimenting with some VMS products (thank you Uncle Nightshift, converting aircraft modeller into an armor one :D) and have nothing but praise for them!
Right, VMS products are really great, and using them for 2 or 3 years now.

Many thanks for your kind comment Sebastijan.
This is some really excellent work, leading to a great result. The effort put in to getting the wear and weathering right resulted in the overall look being highly realistic. All your time and effort really paid off.
Thanks, Tom, for your kind comment, much appreciated π
Really cool stuff. Great build, fantastic weathering. Love the timber fascine on top of the tank, adds some vertical interest. If I would suggest something...it would to have a charging Tommy on the battle side and a couple of civilian visitors at the other side.
Hehe! I thought about it. But I was on this model for so long, I needed to move to another one ;-P
The next one would be great too; a F4U-1D 1/32 from Tamiya!
Really great idea to display it this way, Alex, and it worked out very well, you must be pleased with the result after all your hard work.
It was really a long long looooooong journey! When the build is too long you start to have doubts about the look, the weathering, the idea, the color, etc...
So, I need to step back to appreciate, again, my build π
Slow and steady is the way. Impressive!
Many thanks π
Amazing build, very clever dual views! I have 3 Meng kits none had the interior, which one did you get? Gorgeous work! @modalex6149

Wow! π€© Amazing work and a very exciting scale model; so well done! @modalex6149!
Great thanks for your kind comment π
This is spectacular! When you say measure, you are correct. This could be in one for how realistic it looks. Every aspect is perfect. A show winner for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Many thanks for your great comments Matt
Wow! "A show winner"! what a compliment! :-)))
