Tamiya 1/35 M4A3E8 Sherman "Easy Eight" Korean War

November 27, 2022 · in Armor · · 25 · 1K

Well, yes, it's been a while since I last posted some pics of a finished model. But...oh, OK, I don't have a viable excuse other than to say I've been building lots of models in my head! Don't laugh, you should see the amount of reference material I've accumulated for all those builds I'm planning to do...one day!

Anyway, a straight forward build of the in its Korean war boxing. I thought the colour scheme was interesting and for an AFV, one of the brightest! But then, I have a Takom M46 Patton to build and that's not exactly a wall flower when it comes to colour!

I continue to be inspired by the overall quality and number of builds posted on this site. Well done guys, take a bow!

  1. Excellent finishing. Looks like it could be the factory box art. Very nice build.

  2. No Sir, your model, your bow. Great work! Overall finish has a neat dusty look. And the figures have great expressions on them. A plus.

  3. Fantastic work, Nick! A real joy to watch! Keep them coming!

  4. Great work on a classic kit.

  5. Thank you George!

  6. Beautiful work done, Nick @nickn
Great applied unusual scheme and weathering.

  7. You could get this model as cover for Tamyia Magazine you know? Beautiful work! Who cares about quantity when you deliver quality

    • Steady on Pedro, it's a Tamiya kit and one has to try really hard to make a mess of them these days! My only regret is that I didn't slice the 'red devil' name decals - as you can see the decals follow the curvature of the turret when in actuality the text would've been completely horizontal. One to keep in mind if you're planning to build the same kit/scheme! Cheers.

  8. Well done! Great weathering.

  9. great painting!

  10. Looks great! The scheme does brighten up the Sherman.

  11. @nickn, That is a beauty Nick! 🍻 Well done indeed sir! 👍

    • Many thanks Gary! I see you spent some time in Oz - Geelong in fact. My wife comes from there. And they won the AFL premiership last year! I also note that, like me, you're a fan of the F-84. I have the HB 1/32 kit sitting on the shelf awaiting its turn. Best wishes! Nick
