December 1, 2022 · in Aviation · · 7 · 1K

Missing for Seven years May 26, 1946

The Messerschmitt Me-109 G-6 J-713 was on March 29, 1944 as an aircraft

of the German Air Force under the master Code RU + OZ Landed in Samedan.

The designation Me 109 G-6 / J Bo Rei was found in the log book.

Which indicated a fighter-bomber with increased Range.

The Oberfähnrich Lothar Hirtes had the Order to fly the brand new machine from Erding to Osoppo on the southern front. However, the Young Pilot got lost in the Austrian Mountains, along the Inn to Samedan, where he landed due to lack of fuel. Hirtes was interned and the Me 109 G-6s flown over to Dübendorf. After the End of the war, she was integrated into the Fleet of the Air Force.

On May 29, 1946, at 11:13 a.m., Oblt Hans Zweiacker took off from Emmen for a training flight with planned landing in Locarno-Magadino and Lodrino. But he never got there.

It was only 7 years later that he was found Totally destroyed on a ridge on Piz di Rod, Ticino.

I was allowed to build the 1:48 Scale model of Eduard Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 for Michel Pestoni, he is a Pilot friend and also has interests in the History of Military Aviation.
