1/144th Zvezda Boeing 757-200

February 17, 2023 · in Aviation · · 10 · 1K

Here is a model of Donald Trump's 2016 campaign aircraft. I would like to stress that this is a model and not in any way to be seen as a political statement. I just really liked the markings and that big American flag on the tail. When Draw decals issued their fine sheet (set 44s-757-54A) for this plane, I decided to build it. In my six+ decades of modeling, this is the first ever 1/144th scale plane I've built. The model is finished with Mr. Color Midnight Blue and Gloss White. The trim on the leading edges of the wing and tail parts is ModelMaster chrome silver. Mostly I build in 1/48th scale with military subjects, but I made an exception for this bird.

  1. Great work on that, Jim. I got a close up look at that plane on the Signature ramp at ORD back around 2012-2013ish. It had a big T on the tail in those days before he ran for President. It’s a real eye catcher and was super clean.

  2. Amazing result, John @j-healy
    Very smooth and shiny finish.
I built an airliner recently and I do know they are not easy to handle especialy during painting.
You did an excellent job on this one.

  3. Jim, Very nice looking/eye catching build. (On a side note: I find it kind of fun to step outside my box of usual builds sometimes) !

  4. A non-military build and looks great, Jim. Well done!

  5. Nicely done Jim. A very colorful scheme.

  6. Nice work Jim. You have created an excellent model in 1/144 scale that accurately replicates the real aircraft. A very colorful and beautifully executed paint job. That midnight blue is spot on to my eye. Two thumbs up sir!

  7. Love it, Jim! Excellent build and a very colorful scheme, perfectly replicated!

  8. That's an odd-looking Corsair, Jim...
It's also a fine model, well done, Sir!

  9. Beautiful paint finish and decal work. The full-size plane was repainted in Lake Charles, LA by Landlock Aviation in 2022.
