Kit:
Zoueki Mura F-4E Phantom II (#10)

Accessories:
Quita Studios 3D cockpit decals (awesome!)

Paint:
Dark Tan FS30219 AK RC-225
Forrest Green FS34079 AK RC-027
Green FS334102 AK RC-083

This is a superb kit. There are a few minor gaps which are easily fixed without damaging any detail but the kit goes together extremely well. The biggest challenge is the decals - there are 400 of them; mostly stencils. I had some silvering but I won't blame the decals because I applied them over the semi-gloss paint rather than over a gloss coat. I've gotten away with it on other kits but not this time. Lesson learned. I'd recommend this kit to anyone willing to patiently make their way through about 320 parts.

Thanks for looking,

Richard

  1. Amazing job, Richard!
    Well done!

  2. Excellent result, Richard @rbungay
Never heard about the brand but the kit seems to be quite okay.
Stencilling a Phantom is a challenge by itself, you performed well on doing that.

  3. Looks great, Richard...the classic Phantom is an awesome add to your collection! I have the 1/48 Meng F-4E in the waiting once I wrap up my F-104 build. And I scored the Quinta Studios 3-D cockpit decals too, find their level of detail fascinating. Thanks for the inspiration!

  4. The silvering doesn’t show in the photos, Richard, great model of a Phantom.

  5. Nicely done Mike, that cockpit is awesome.

  6. That's a real beauty, Richard. Well, well done!

  7. Excellent Rhino.
Can attest to Quinta 3D Decals quality and ease of use. Using them is a heck of a lot easier than painting the details (even at my steadiest, I can not duplicate that level of detail with a 00 paint brush, masking tape and dial decals.)

  8. Excellent build! Love the camo scheme on this one. Great result

  9. One hot looking Phantom!
