Corvette C3 customized (Revell 1:24)

August 20, 2023 · in Automotive · · 6 · 261

I got this kit from my son. He wanted the car for his showcase.
However, I did not like the original look of the car and challenged myself to wide the body plus change box parts for 3D printed ones.
I designed and printed new rims, tyres, lights and hood. Then I made new wide body + reworked front bumper by using a lot of miliput. Sparco seats printed my friend, I just added all belts.
I had some pictures as an inspiration, but the final result is completely unique.

I know my son loves anime stuff like Initial D, therefore I made masks for "charge speed" letters on doors and samurai on the hood.

There is not much to say about the build - I am not familiar with building cars, therefore I struggled many times with many parts - and customization I decided for only made all things worse. I did not care much about engine or other stuff which will be hidden anyway. I only focused on exterior and tried not to complicate the build too much.
I am happy with results as it is, it could end with disaster at any moment.

(I am sorry for less quality of photos, my friend borrowed my stative and have not returned it back yet.)

  1. You did pretty darned good as a car designer here.

    • Thanks Tom.
To perfection it would need also new rear bumper, but I did not figure out how to do it.
Maybe I would be able to do it today, but half year ago everything was so new and unknown... I just stayed at safe side.

  2. A unique looking model, an excellent build, Martin!
    Really eye catching result!

  3. Many things to admire about this build; the front valance, wheels, the sunken headlamps with clear covers, graphics on the hood. Totally, a one-of-a-kind build. Great stuff.

  4. Amazing work, Martin, your modelling skills have certainly created a unique Corvette. I’m sure it has taken pride of place in your son’s showcase.

  5. Very impressive, Martin @naviatik
Lots of modification which definitely added a lot of value to this build.
