Ford Tri-motor

August 26, 2023 · in Aviation · · 9 · 540

Looking through some pics of my old builds from the Jurassic period, here's an oldie. 's box scale (about 1:77) a friend got at a garage sale. Someone had already started building it, got some paint on parts still attached to the sprues, no decals. I love old airplanes from the '30s, so I finished it as an Army C-3A with decals from my stash and home made decals for the data plate. Kind of crude, but it looks like a Ford!

  1. That's an excellent result on an old model and it captures the look and ambience of the original. I like the contemporary photo as well.

  2. Nice work on this. For a kit originally released in 1956 - 67 years ago! - it still looks nice.

  3. Turned out very well, that kit’s nearly as old as me.

  4. Excellent looks, Chas! It is so great building older kits and coming up with such awesome results!

  5. Very nice Tri-motor, Chas @chasbunch

  6. Looks great, this kit is a pleasure to build ,i did one a while back.

  7. Well done, Chas (@chasbunch). This is a really tough kit, especially when you do the extra work to add the control wires, etc. I built this kit a couple of years ago and spent a lot of time getting the corrugations on the top and bottom of the wing to match. Yours look perfect.

  8. Very nice for such an ancient kit!
