Spitfire Mk.IX UT. The Red Trainer

August 2, 2023 · in Aviation · · 10 · 352

I converted the to the UT version. Their own pilot rainer.

Soviets rebuild nearly any used western aircraft type to a trainer version to help the pilots to understand the aircraft during the training.

The kit is not more perfect to modern standards but its a more correct and finer copy than the Hasegawa and Italeri kits.

I used a second started kit for the conversion.

I dont know how correct the cockpit is, because the few existing photos are not showing this area. Some reengraved panels and a second canopy and I have a Spitfire UT in my collection.

I lost the pilots cockpit door and replaced the broken exhausts which are still not painted again 🧐

Best regards
