Revell Thames Anglia 1/25 scale

September 17, 2023 · in Automotive · · 14 · 233

Here is a kit that always held my interest as a kid growing up. Maybe it was the box art, but I always thought this model was so cool. Having built it a few years ago, I found out how fidgety this kit can be, especially the front suspension. Front wheels are made to pivot, but not in this case. Pointed straight ahead is good enough for me. The model was painted Testors Lacquer rattle can Citrus Yellow Metallic. I'm glad I built this kit, and it looks good displayed on the shelf, but would I ever want to build it again? Eh, probably not! LOL

  1. This looks really cool, John @jdtruby
    Excellent result.

  2. I have never seen one of these, John (@jdtruby). Nice job, especially on the engine.

  3. Don’t worry about the front wheels, John, I thought dragsters only went in a straight line. It came out very well, and I see what you mean about the box art.

  4. Thanks George! Yeah, Revell probably sold a bunch of these kits based on the box art alone.

  5. Amazing result, John! As George said, no worries on the front wheels pivoting.
    Love that box art too!

  6. Great job with the wiring, John @jdtruby. I remember building this Anglia kit way back when I was a teener. Sounds like you did too. Well done!

  7. Nicely done! Revell car kits have always been a bit fiddly, Monogram tended to do better, but did not have as wide of a range

  8. Great job John. I know what you mean about the kit being fiddle. I have the Anglia, the Auston, and the Willys coups and pick-up, and there all the same. They can definitely be a challenge, it yours turned out beautiful.
