Muesum quality. Libor the cockpit photos remind me of some museum photos with the instrument glass having a yellowish tint. Some strong work went into making this model and its impressive to say the least.
That's really superb work in all areas of this kit, Libor, and a great result. I've done that kit, too, and you definitely got the most out of everything that was there in the box, and then some.
This is an amazing looking F-84. You have done a wonderful job with it.
My Dad had a childhood friend who was shot down and killed while flying in a F-84 with very similar markings by a Russian pilot who was flying a MiG 15 in North Korean markings.
I built a tribute model of both his plane and the MiG that shot him down.
Louis, I can't remember is I ever pointed out the coincidence in me building the very MiG-15 that shot down Lt. Rebo, and then later, unknowingly building a bird of his squadron mate's:

I built a MiG-15 with those same markings using a 1/48 Tamiya kit. Ironically enough, I found the decals about 20 years ago at what was our "local" Hobbytown. When I purchased them, I didn't have a clue as to what I was actually getting at the time. I simply liked the decal options and choices of various MiG's that were options for the decal sheet.
Only years later did I realize that one of the pilots in the MiG decal options was THE pilot who shot down and killed my Dad's childhood buddy. Mike remained listed as MIA until recently, when they handed over his partial remains at Freedom Village on the DMZ. I think this happened in either 2017 or 2018. The US was able to identify him using DNA from surviving relatives.
I actually built this MiG-15 as a part of our MiG group build. I have linked it along with the other MiG 15's I built for the group to Lt. Rebo's F-84.
That looks gorgeous, Libor, especially the interior details and the NMF.
Amazing build, Libor!
Congratulations on your terrific build...it's excellent!
Beautiful work, Libor @lcernocky! 👍 Great attention to detail and superb construction! 🏆
It seems as if I may have built a squadron mate of your incredible model, Libor, but a somewhat smaller version, please meet "Lil' Butch":

Here is a much smaller version of your model. This one is in 1/48 scale.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

That's yet another odd coincidence in this tale, Louis @lgardner. Some things really do make one think of the strange turns in life, don't they? 😊
Gary Brantley (@garybrantley)
Yes sir ! Everything happens for a reason. We may not know exactly how or why at the time... but it does...
