Airfix 1/72 Vickers Wellington GR Mk.VII
What a sweet kit this was to build.
No issues regarding fit other than those I created myself.
When you consider how much goes into the internals it's a credit to Airfix that it goes together so well.
Primed with Mr. Finishing Surfacer 1500 Black.
Painted with,
Colourcoats Extra Dark Sea Grey, Dark Slate Grey, Night Bomber Black, FAA/RAF Yellow and Interior Grey Green.
Tamiya Rubber Black, Nato Black, Flat White with Buff mix, Flat Aluminium, Dark Green and Gun Metal,
Mr, Hobby Aqueous Salmon Pink.
Xtreme Metals Steel, Burnt Metal and Jet Exhaust
Flory Dark Dirt wash for the control surfaces.
The main fuselage and wings grubbied up with a dot filter and dry brush of Windsor & Newton Titanium White, Burnt Sienna, Ochre Yellow, Abteilung 502 Smoke and Starship Filth.
Final varnishes.
Windsor & Newton Galeria Gloss for the undersides.
Windsor & Newton Galeria Matt for the uppers.
Nice looking Wimpy.
Many Thanks
A fantastic result, Alistair! Looks like Airfix did a great kit and you made the most of it!
Congratulations!
Thanks Spiros,
It is truly a great wee kit.
Well done sub hunter!
Thanks so much.
Fine looking model. The camo scheme is very well done.
Thanks Very much
That looks great! I have a couple of Wellingtons to build - love the coastal command scheme on this - one of mine will be similar.
Thanks Greg,
You'll be able to show me how it should be done
Excellent Wellington, Alistair! That is one of Airfix’s nicest kits.
Many Thanks,
It is a lovely kit to build.
Love that Atlantic paint scheme. I'm doing my HUdson in the same scheme. You've done a fine job on this Alistair.
Thank you so much
Well done Alistair Gauld (@alistairfgauld). Very impressive build. I like it.
Thanks very much
Nicely done Alistair, looks good.
Thanks so much
Great work, Alistair (@alistairfgauld). What an interesting plane, with all of the masts and wire antennas sticking up from the top of the fuselage. I also really like the FAA camo, which is always striking. Well done.
Thanks you very much
Use the word "festooned" in a sentence. Da model was festooned with antennas. Excellent job on this, great paint.
Thanks so much.
🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
A very interesting model and a dominant camouflage scheme in any model collection, Alistair!
Thanks very much
A great looking Wellington. A plethora of antennas. @alistairfgauld
Many Thanks
Superb looking Wellington, Alistair @alistairfgauld
Not the easiest Wellington variant with all those antennas.
Well done.
Thank you so much.
The hardest part was remembering to drill the holes out before buttoning the fuselage up
Oh, Alistair @alistairfgauld. This isn’t fair. I love this scheme and want this kit badly and here you come and have this beautiful build. It’s gorgeous!
Thanks so much.
Don't let me put you off it is worth building for yourself
That's a great looking Wellington. These newer Airfix kits are really wonderful. You've done a beautiful job on this one Alistair.
Thanks so much
Lovely Wellington!
Many Thanks
Great work on this Airfix Wellington, Alistair, love the colour scheme.
Thank you very much
That's a brilliant result.
Thanks so much.
