Kinetic 1/48 EA-6B Prowler
Kinetic's Prowler is a big and heavy model. The optional folded wings add much to the character of the model, not to mention the saved display space. However, it is a bulky model. Parts are large and lack detail finesse. This is most noticeable in the cockpit and wing fold areas. In addition, fit of parts has much to be desired. For example, the canopy parts are thick and protrude from the fuselage contours. The obvious solution to present the model with open canopies is questionable since the cockpit details are sparse and direly require a resin aftermarket. In hindsight, I wish I did. Nonetheless, when completed, the model looks like a Prowler
That's a great looking Prowler, Rafi @blackmopane! 👏 Very nice result, indeed! 👍
Thank you Gary.
Looking good to me despite the shortcomings you described. 👍
Thank you Alfred.
Super-duper-fine build & finish, Rafi.
Thank you Bob.
Another victory of talent, tenacity and skill over plastic.
Thank you Tom!
Great choice for the tail markings.
Thank you John.
Awesome result out of the definitely challenging and plagued with issues Kinetic kit, Rafi!
Congratulations!
Thank you Spiros!
I definitely like it. I think it is very good for the possibilities that this model offers.
Thank you Milan.
Very impressive result, Rafi @blackmopane
The folded wings do give it a much more dynamic look.
Thank you John!
Excellent finished result on this Prowler, Rafi. @blackmopane
Thank you John T.
This is an excellent result! I experienced the Kinetic fit issues soon after rejoining this hobby, trying to build the Super Etendard Modernise. This led me to a Kinetic holiday that is still ongoing. Yet, like yours, in the end it does look like a SEM…albeit in my case better seen from at least half a meter away.
Thank you Marcello.
Fortunately, many Kinetic kits do not have serious dimensional issues and the fit of parts is reasonable.
🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
A noteworthy build of the EA-6B after all the shortcomings dealt with Rafi.
Thank you DE!
Your Prowler looks awesome, Rafi. I like it withe the wings folded and canopie closed, it looks like it should be sitting on a carrier deck waiting for its next sortie. Great work as usual!
Thank you Clint!
Your pictures of the pose you’ve given it make it look very impressive.
Thank you George!
Beautiful, Prowlers were the loudest jets on deck during my years, they could literally loosen fillings when they went to high power on the cats, I mean it actually hurt being that close to them.
Thank you Bob.
Interesting comment. Cannot pick it up from the Intruder flight movie.
It's just fine Rafi. You did a great job on that kit. Be glad it's not one of the 1/32 Trumpeter kits, now that is a beast.
Thank you Carl.
Rafi I think you did a great job with this model. It looks great. Cockpit looks pretty detailed despite what you said. Most of us here have probably never sat in a Prowler anyway 😂
Nice work!
Thank you Scott.
The problem is that most of us should have sat there😃
Your builds are always fantastic Rafi, this one is no exception.
Thank you Ben!
A beautiful result despite the shortcomings of the kit! I'm also an Intruder/Prowler fan, and this one looks great!
Thank you Greg!
I feel your "Kinetic" pain, Rafi. Still, your Prowler looks amazing and kudos to your modeling skills needed to overcome quality challenges. IMO, that is part of the gratification of modeling! 🙂
Thank you Joe.
Totally.
Great result ! a real Prowler !
Thank you Olivier!
