Say again Eagle... you guys crashed into what?

December 21, 2023 · in Sci-fi · · 17 · 280

Inspired by one of my favourite Sci-Fi films of all time, the classic 2001 Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubric and based upon the book by Arthur C Clarke. In the Film/book the black obelisk is essentially a probe from a super advanced alien species placed on the moon to alert them as to when Humans are evolved enough to develop technology and travel to the moon.

These astronauts were not paying attention and have unfortunately pranged their moon rover into the alien emissary (in the film/book the obelisk was buried but my aliens were obviously in a bit more of a rush).

The Obelisk was designed on Fusion 360 and 3D printed while the rover and astronauts were files found on Cults 3D and again 3D printed. The base was built from insulation foam and balsa wood with polyfilla. Painting was primarily with acrylics with detail work using AK acrylics.
