Kinetic 1/48 CF-188A RCAF Demo Team 2017
This one languished around for quite a while before I got started with it.
It was bought because I thought the scheme was fantastic but left alone because I feared messing up the decals.
It needed to be built so I decided to get on with it.
Primed with Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black,
Painted with,
SMS Insignia White and Italian Red.
AK Real Colours Light Ghost Grey and Dark Ghost Grey
Tamiya Rubber Black, Desert Yellow, Gun Metal and Nato Black.
Washes with Citadel Nuln Oil.
Finished with Windsor & Newton Satin and Matt Varnishes.
Aftermarket used.
Quinta studio Cockpit decals and ResKit Wheels.
Thanks for looking,
Cheers,
Alistair
Awesome result, Alistair!
A striking scheme, which you replicated perfectly!
Congratulations!
Thanks so much Spiros.
Well, you certainly "landed" this one very successfully Alistair! Beautiful paint and decal work.
Many Thanks Tom,
Most kind
A wonderful build in an attractive scheme, Alistair @alistairfgauld
All decals and paintwork came out perfectly.
Well done.
Thanks very much.
Yeah, those decals look nightmarish to apply. You did a fantastic job!
Thanks so much,
They were a lot simpler to apply than they looked.
Love it
Thanks very much.
A lovely build. @alistairfgauld
Many thanks
Looks like some challenging decal work, you pulled it off wonderfully. Definitely an eye catching CF-18, great job Alistair.
Thank you very much.
A stunning build, Alistair!
Must have been a painstaking job to put those decals on. Did you cut the big ones in smaller pieces to ease the job of applying them?
Thanks so much,
There was only one big one and that was the one at the top of the air-brake.
Everything else was in smaller pieces already and the main ones all fit from the first one.
Turned out brilliantly, Alistair.
Thanks so much
Nice work, Alistair. I have a two seater in the stash. How was the fit in the nose area? I’ve heard others have had issues with it.
Thanks very much.
If you watch the videos from Matt MacDougal of Doogs Models I did the same thing he did by not gluing in the underside piece on the nose until I got the rest fettled in.
It made it fairly easy.
Good job, Alistair @alistairfgauld! 👍 Beautiful paintwork and decaling, sir! 🍻
Thanks very much
Very nice! Those commemorative and display team decals are hard to get down well, but you did great!
Thanks very much Greg
