Tamiya Mazda MX-5 Roadster 1/24

February 24, 2024 · in Automotive · · 12 · 104

Since I restarted this childhood hobby of mine, my 9 year old daughter kept asking if she could play with the models I've built. That's why I choose to build this from for her. It's a car I've always loved, and a nice side-step from the more historical kits I usually build.

Tamiya has made this a fine model to build. Especially the head- and rearlights is very detailed. My daughter preferred the red color (Tamiya TS-95, the first time I sprayed a model, instead of brush-painting). It was also the first time I had to use metal-stickers. I overlooked in the manual strange how to use them, but found some help with it online.

I hope you enjoy the pictures. I'd love to know what you think of it!

  1. That’s a great model of a great car, colour choice is excellent. I think if you examined the instructions more thoroughly you would find out how to apply the metal stickers. Welcome to iModeler.

    • Thanks for the comment George. You are totally right. I’ve just rechecked the manual and the use of metal transfers is on page two. How could I have missed out on that. 🤔

  2. Excellent work, Harm @hptiggelaar
The MX5 is a beautiful car and the red color does do justice to it.

Based on your first and last name, I assume you're from the Netherlands.
