1/144 A-Model Canadair CL-415

March 3, 2024 · in Aviation · · 13 · 418

Sooo...when start running out of display space, a grown up boy should:

a) grow up and stop building models

b) drop to a smaller scale

I chose B of course, and for the first time in my life built model. Since I went downscale I decided to go for small diorama and decided to build (another) , this time in Croatian markings. This particular kit () is trying at all costs to give you a nervous breakdown, there's probably more putty than plastic in this kit. I also had to master Corel Draw to make and print my own decals. In the end it took me almost three months to get to here. I must admit my first encounter with 1/144 scale was much more challenging and fun than I expected.

  2. Amazing, Boris @grgast
The idea is wonderful and the way you displayed this tiny aircraft above the forest fire is superb.
    Well done.

    • Thank you John. I've always felt that no matter how perfectly assembled and painted, without being put in motion models are only half way done. Whenever I can I try to display an aircraft in flight.

  3. A-model has that effect on me too. Not the easiest kits in the world and sometimes the only kit available.
The end result is quite good though.

    • After years of modeling I finally got courage to battle the flaws of a cheap kit, and I agree it really opens the way for many airplanes usually unavailable in premium brands.

  4. Great things come in small packages, very nice Boris.

  5. Excellent job, Boris!

  6. Terrific display, Boris.

  7. What a cool project, and hey! - it's even got an airplane in it! Great work.
