Hawker Hunter FGA.9Revell 1/32nd scale

April 10, 2024 · in Aviation · · 8 · 248

Greetings all,

An Easter holidays completion from me - 's 1/32nd scale FGA.9 more or less OOB, other than some aftermarket decals from AeroMaster and some home-made FOD guards. My model represents a machine based at RAF Wittering as part of 58 Squadron in the mid-1970s.

This kit is really under-rated in my humble opinion - it has lots of detail OOB and beautiful surface detailing from a time when Revell were at the top of their game. I had no issues whatsoever with the build - it's about as close as you can get to building Lego - and it went together in a few days. Paints were Xtracolur enamels with a splash of Humbrol Matt Cote to finish it off. Some light weathering was done with Mig pastels.

All in all a very enjoyable build - and it only cost me a tenner under the table at a show!

All the best,
Tom

  1. How big is your hangar Tom?

    Simon.

  2. The big Revell Hunter is indeed an under-rated kit. If it "needs" anything extra to be perfect, it's a nice 1/32 MB Mk 2 seat.

  3. Excellent work done, Thomas @vacform
A smooth and elegant looking Hunter.

Very nicely done! The engine FOD covers came out great!

  5. Excellent job and super result, Thomas!
Indeed, a very nice, definitely underrated kit.

  6. Very nice Hunter! Definitely takes up some shelf space...
