Kit: 1/72 TAMIYA(タミヤ)
Decals: Eduard Model Accessories
Paint: MRP
Built according to IPMS/USA Basic Kit Build (BKB) standards.
I started this 3 weeks ago, with the majority of the work completed the first Friday-Sunday. The last 2 weekends were spent fixing errors, creating more errors, and fixing those. The kit is the Tamiya Gustav, and the decals are from Eduard's "Gustav Pt.1" dual combo release. Paints are all MRP, and a Dark Grey Tamiya Panel Line Wash rounds things out. I'm pretty happy with the result. The fine mottling was achieved using a Gunze-Creos PS771 airbrush with the Crown Cap removed. I hope you like it, comments and constructive criticism welcome.
Looks very nice, at first glance I thought I was seeing pics of a 1/48 model
Excellent result, especially for the scale, James!
Awesome
James. This looks really good, Great paint work.
Ah - I really like that scheme! What was the basic pattern/color combo beneath the winter overcoat? I can't quite tell... I think I want to do one just like it!
I'm fairly certain it was the standard Daylight Camo Scheme of RLM 74/75/76.
Nice winter camo - I like it!
Thank you Gentlemen, for your kind words.
That's amazing James - love it! Very cool and such a great result for fast build time!
Really interesting scheme. And a great scale!
Awesome looking Gustav, Kelly @jkelleycrna
Especially the winter camouflage is superb. Great paintwork.
A super build and in such a short time. Fantastic modelling.
Nice work James!
James,
You could have written that this build was in 1/48 scale. Winter camo's are hard to make interesting. However, your gifts and talents have raised the bar on what can be done with this kit. A real barn burner this one.
Two thumbs up.
