A self-imposed Challenge...

July 2, 2024 · in Automotive · · 10 · 214

I recently, as of 5/30/24, was involved in a vehicle accident. (It's okay, I'll be fine) As part of the recovery, I underwent shoulder surgery which has left my dominant hand, well, useless and in a sling. With too much time at hand, I came up with the "Build a model using the non-dominant hand" Challenge. I went through my stash of kits and discovered this beauty from . It went together rather easily. There wasn't a lot of extreme scale detail with which to deal. Painting was the biggest obstacle to overcome. All in all, it was a nice, albeit sometimes motorskill frustrating, build.

  1. Looks like a cool recovery.

  2. Sorry to hear about the accident, wishing you a quick recovery, Douglas @eatontkd
Your non-dominant hand is clearly able to deliver a nice build as well.

  3. Nice work Douglas, it definitely looks great. I draw and write left handed, and do everything else right handed. There are a few things I can do with both, but if your not use to doing it all the time I do know how frustrating it can be.
Here's to a speedy recovery. I hope it's a fast one for you.

  4. Excellent job, Douglas!

Great that you took the non-dominant hand challenge.

  5. @eatontkd that is so cool! An excellent way for rehab and taking your mind off things! A great looking build!
