Night Haunter…1/48 Boulton Paul Defiant Mk.I, RAF

February 28, 2021 · in Aviation · · 7 · 2K

Built in 2015. Initially my dad wanted to build a Mk.II nightfighter with the kit with the fancy red codes but he didn´t get along with the itsy bitsy tiny PE parts for the antennas, so he decided to build a Mk.I which has no radar antennas. The needed different parts were included in the kit. Owl decals used. Either the paint surface was a bit rough or the decals weren´t the best, partly a bit silvering.

Model shows an a/c of 256 Sqn RAF in 1941

The kit´s nice resin cockpit of which you don´t see nothing in the end...

  1. A great build by your dad, Reinhard.
Recently finished a Defiant myself from Airfix, it is a wonderful aircraft.
It is a pity that you don't see the interior because that is indeed very nice resin.

  2. Well done...on a CA kit...never quick builds, always stretching one's skills and patience.

  3. Very nice work Reinhard, congratulations and well done on a great build!

  4. Wow, accomplishing a result as nice as this from a kit as bad as that is a real victory!

  5. 🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Well done representation of the Defiant, Reinhard.
    Good and subtle weathering.

  6. (Your usual) excellent result, out of a difficult kit, Reinhard!
    Congratulations!

  7. Lovely - I love the uneven look of the black. Brings lots of visual interest to an otherwise boring paint scheme! Well done.
