Revell 1/24 Aston Martin DB5

July 10, 2024 · in Automotive · · 16 · 181

A build with done with my Nephew.
He's over from Turkey on holiday and this is what he wanted to build.
I did the majority of the painting and he built the beast.

Primed with Mr. Finishing Surfacer 1500 Black.
Painted with Halfords Rover Silver Leaf.
Tamiya German Grey, Sky Grey, Gun Metal, Hull Red Brown, Semi-Gloss Black, Clear Orange and Clear Red.
Xtreme Metals Steel and Chrome.
Clear coated with Mr. Hobby GX100 Super Clear III.

The majority of the parts just press fit together and the only problems it gave me were when I had to open some of the holes a little and that was probably down to the layers of paint.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair

  1. Very nice, Alistair.

  2. Great looking car.

That's the one car I would love to buy if I had the money.

But it would include the ejection seat.

  3. A lovely model of a classic car, Alistair, I’m sure your nephew enjoyed the build.

  4. An excellent result, Alistair! A combined effort with your nephew, what better?
    Congratulations!

  5. Very nice build, Alistair @alistairfgauld
    Your nephew is clearly talented.

  6. Perfect Bond car, Alistair @alistairgauld. Brings back memories of those first three Sean Connery Bond movies I saw as a 13-14 year old at the local Saturday matinee. I recently revisited "Goldfinger" at a movie theater on the big screen and that Aston Martin remains the killer vehicle of the day all tricked out in its glory.

  7. Looks beautiful, Alistair. Whenever I see a DB5, I get this strange craving for a martini, shaken, not stirred. 🤔

  8. Classic car done well! 👏 Great looking DB5, Alistair! 🤩
